Story behind the song
The Message is the story of a man that receives an interstellar message, transmitted from a dying planet that portends bad things for much of the universe including Earth. He resists, but ultimately succumbs to act on this (ala Moses or Noah). He warns and gathers people and deals with the difficulties and uncertainties of interstellar travel. And once reaching the planet, massive adaptations and transformations occur.

Although the speed of light placed an upper limit on our velocities, even as knowledge and space ship design advanced, we could only reach a small fraction of that limit.
The reality of the distance to habitable planets, at the speeds we could reach, made the journey to other solar systems hundreds to thousands of times longer than a human lifespan. This necessitated compromises and modifications in the human form - the fusion of technology and biology... Adaptations
